About the course

In 1990, BusinessObjects was founded in Paris. It grew into a well-known and respected provider of business intelligence software. In 2007, for $6.78 billion, SAP purchased BusinessObjects, the largest acquisition SAP had ever made. The former company operated independently at first, but in 2009, BusinessObjects became a division of SAP, and the products were rebranded as SAP BusinessObjects.

SAP BusinessObjects BI (SAP BO) is a centralised set of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analysis tools. SAP BO is for corporate users. It consists of several reports so that users can find information, analyse it and produce reports visualising insight. SAP BO is designed for business users to make reporting and analysis simple to create reports and processes like predictive analysis without data analyst input. SAP BO uses a collection of BI instruments to achieve this. The SAP BusinessObjects Universe, which consists of layers of metadata that connect the back-end data to the front-end application layer, is at the heart of SAP BO.

SAP BusinessObjects BI uses drag-and-drop functions, allowing users to search and analyse data from various sources. Because SAP BO is a front-end BI platform, data is integrated from various back-end sources rather than stored at the application level. SAP BO consists of several application reports and analyses with their own identity, purpose and function.
